John C. Burney
Chairman and Founder
Jack is a retired Army Brigadier General, a West Point class of 1946 graduate and holds a graduate degree from George Washington University. Jack is a life long investor and the original developer of the firm's proprietary stock selection analytical system. His sole business is investment management.

Lowell D. Pratt Jr., CFA
President
Lowell joined The Burney Company in 1986, became a Portfolio Manager in 1992, was promoted to Director of Analysis in 1996 and became President in 2003. Lowell earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1989, has a BS in Finance and Economics from Virginia Tech and an MS in Banking and Financial Management from Boston University.

William A. Stewart
Director of Analytical Operations
Bill joined The Burney Company in 1987 as an equity analyst and is currently the Director of Operations for the Analytical Department and Chief Compliance Officer for the Company. He has a BS in Administration from The University of New Hampshire and a Master of Accounting from George Washington University.

Eugene Yashin, CFA
Director of Research and Development, Portfolio Manager
Eugene joined the company as Director of R&D and has been instrumental in expanding Burney’s proprietary analytical system. His analytical research is bolstered by his previous institutional and emerging markets experience. He oversaw investment systems at ULLICO and earlier in his career worked as an analyst for Signet New Capital Markets Fund. Eugene is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute. He earned an MBA in Finance and IT from American University, Washington, DC and a BBA in International Finance from SLU.

Angie Rugari
Compliance Officer
Angie joined the company in January of 2006 as an equity analyst and compliance officer.  Previously, she worked for DuPont as a process engineer in the Kevlar® department, then at Kaman Sciences Corporation as a research engineer.  She earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1987.

Yevgeniy Gushcha, PhD
Portfolio Manager
Yevgeniy began his career with The Burney Company in 2000 as an Equity Analyst.  In 2007 he transitioned to Portfolio Management as Head of Operations and Trading where his strong quantitative and technical skills were utilized in the efficient management of portfolios.  Yevgeniy graduated from the American University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.  In 2004, he earned a Ph.D. in Economics from KSU.

Martin Walsh
Research Analyst
Martin joined The Burney Company in 1992 and works as a Research Analyst in the Analytical Group. Martin has over a decade of experience implementing Burney's proprietary models, is a member of the Technology Committee and oversees the IT infrastructure. Martin is a 1992 graduate of Georgetown University with a BS in Finance.
